Research
Triangle (Environmental Protection Agency) CAVTC operates the EPA-owned
emissions research facility at Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.
The Research Triangle laboratory supports a broad range of emissions
research activities which are planned and conducted by CAVTCs
permanent North Carolina staff in collaboration with EPA scientists.
Work
activities in the North Carolina lab encompass a broad range of standard,
emerging, and experimental vehicle emissions testing techniques as well
as extensive emissions and fuel analyses.
CAVTC also conducts testing to measure and evaluate
the emissions from small engines, including those in lawn mowers, weed-whackers,
and other off-road applications in addition to outboard marine engines.
